New Books for Thanksgiving Break

You’ll be enjoying your week off much more if you’ve got a good book at your elbow.  Here are some of our favorite picks for the Thanksgiving Break.

Downton Abbey Fans
If you love the setting and storylines of the PBS series, Downton Abbey, you might love these titles:  American Heiress, by Daisy Goodwin; Remains of the Day, by Kazuo Ishiguro, and Possession, by A.S. Byatt.

Gothic Novels
Add a little atmosphere to your November evenings with novels set on windswept moors and in old, creaky houses.  Older classics include Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, while some newer choices are The Thirteenth Tale, by Diane Setterfield, and A Sign of the Four, a graphic novel by Ian Edginton based on the works of Arthur Conan Doyle. For a breathless, nerve-wracking English Gothic, try Rustication by Charles Palliser.

New Fiction
If you are looking for some light reading that’s romantic and fun, try Eleanor & Park, or Fangirl, both by Rainbow Rowell, or for a guy’s point of view, An Abundance of Katherines, by John Green.  For fans of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, why not try Dark Places for a seriously creepy read?

It’s The End of the World
Are you zombie mad?  How about Rise Again, by Ben Tripp?  If you enjoy apocalyptic fiction in the vein of Lord of the Flies, try Quarantine:  The Loners, by Lex Thomas.

Stop by soon for a great selection.  We’ll close on Friday at 4pm for Thanksgiving Break.
